That metal has been worn away just from wearing it. This is the diamond with a new head attached and diamond set. Notice the amount of metal over the edge of the diamond now. Chains rub against bails over time and cut grooves in the metal. Using the laser welder, we can add gold to fill in the worn spots. It's important to look at older pendants when they've been worn often. Or stop by and we can check things for you.
