Our customer brought in her engagement ring for sizing and also asked for an insert ring to designed. I didn't realize that by hugging the engagement ring we designed an insert ring that wouldn't allow the engagement ring to push up from the center. The design of the engagement ring bulged out and then came back in. When we put the rings together our insert ring "trapped" the engagement ring into place and didn't want to let go. We had to open up the space to allow the engagement ring to get free. I made a note to myself to remember that the next time we design an insert ring. Goldsmith Tim Thompson polished the mountings, set the diamonds, and assembled the rings together.
